All Lumoava jewelry is designed and made in Kuopio. Each piece is handcrafted with over 80 years of experience. We keep production in our own hands so that we can stand behind every piece, with honestly and pride.
Our commitment to sustainability
Silver and gold are materials with the ability to carry stories from one generation to the next. When we speak about the sustainability of jewelry, we mean above all that true value stands the test of time. A fine piece of jewelry is not just a fleeting delight, it is a promise that endures and lives on.
All our gold jewelry is made from 100% recycled gold. Our silver pieces are also crafted entirely from recycled material. We strive to make use of every last particle of precious metal, even the fine dust produced during crafting is carefully collected, refined, and reused. Respect for the material is present in every step of our process.
The components used in our jewelry that we do not make ourselves, such as clasps and posts, come from carefully selected domestic and European suppliers. We source our diamonds through a Finnish broker, who in turn ensures that the entire supply chain is as responsible as possible from start to finish. We also offer laboratory‑grown diamonds as an alternative.
For our pearls, we use Akoya pearls, whose livelihood depends on the health of clean seas. In some of our pieces, we also use vegetable‑tanned leather, a chrome‑free, gentler alternative to traditional tanning. This material ages beautifully, telling the story of time, just like our jewelry.
As a manufacturer, we are committed to operating in the most environmentally friendly way possible. We also strive to recycle all other materials, from packaging to coffee cups. All chemicals are sent for proper, certified processing. Our facility uses a closed‑loop water system, a sealed cooling circuit, and heat recovery in ventilation. Every choice is a step toward leaving a lighter footprint on our environment.
Our jewelry carries the Avainlippu label, a mark that signifies Finnish craftsmanship and quality.

For every Liza jewelry piece sold, we donate €5 to MIELI ry. The funds help support people in challenging life situations and promote mental well-being across Finland, from early childhood education and schools to working adults and the elderly.
Lumoava x Moomin
The Lumoava x Moomin collection commemorates the Moomins’ 80th anniversary with a special yellow-gold Love pendant, celebrating the beauty of love and life. To mark this milestone, we are giving back – €5 from the sale of every yellow-gold Love pendant will be donated to the Finnish Red Cross to support their vital work.

Participating in the New Children’s Hospital initiative
Proceeds from the Lumoava Hali collection and Lohdunkantaja jewelry helped support the New Children’s Hospital project in 2014–2015, with a total donation of €174,720
The Wings for Youth campaign
We have served as the official partner and jewelry supplier for the Finnish Olympic Team. For each piece from the Loisto collection, we donated €5 to the Wings for Youth campaign, which provides coaching support to upper secondary school students during school hours.
Lumoava Junior
In spring 2020, we held the Lumoava Junior jewelry design competition for schoolchildren. From more than 500 entries, five were chosen and produced as limited editions of 100 pieces each. The proceeds were donated to five charitable causes, supporting primary school programs, animal welfare, and dance activities.
Star of Life and Ronald McDonald
Through the Lumoava Elämäntähti jewelry collection, created in collaboration with Krista Siegfrids, we supported the Ronald McDonald Children’s House Foundation. A total of €31,900 was donated from the sales.
