Our production
Our jewelry is designed and handcrafted in Finland from 100% recycled gold and silver. At the heart of Lumoava jewelry lies timeless and fresh design that evokes emotions year after year.

Crafting our jewelry
The creation of a piece of jewelry is always a story of collaboration and craftsmanship an homage to tradition and a celebration of the present moment. Most of our jewelry is made using a casting method that begins with the creation of a master piece. This unique original is the joint work of the designer, the 3D modeler, and the model maker. The master piece is finished with the utmost care, as it serves as the basis for every piece in that collection.

The process continues through the creation of molds and wax trees, leading to the moment when molten silver or gold fills the plaster mold. Each component of the jewelry is then cut free, finished, and passed on to the goldsmith for further work.

Some of our jewelry pieces, such as Hali and Onnekas, are made by piercing the components from sheets of precious metal. The shaping is done by pressing the pieces into the desired form.

Beauty lies in the details
From the drafts, shapes and proportions are refined. At this stage, the ability to pause in the presence of beauty becomes essential, to see the details that often go unnoticed. We draw inspiration from the living world, from its phenomena, emotions, and shifting trends. The ability to interpret our surroundings with both sensitivity and precision is part of the story behind every piece of jewelry.

Three-dimensional models can be created either digitally or by handcrafting, and both methods coexist. Once the shape is close to final, the surface finish is chosen – glossy, matte, brushed, satin, or another look that supports the piece of jewelry’s own expression.
