Our story
Our story began in 1942, when goldsmith Eino Räsänen opened a small workshop in the heart of Kuopio, driven by a desire to create beauty that would last a lifetime. From those humble beginnings grew Lumoava, celebrated for its delicate Nordic soul, meaningful design, and timeless craftsmanship where history and the present meet in perfect harmony.
Every piece we create is imagined and handcrafted in Finland, shaped by over 80 years of expertise and passion. Each surface, each curve, each fine detail carries with it a story and a feeling: that you are truly enchanting, exactly as you are.
Towards the dream
It all began a hundred years ago, when Eino Räsänen forgot his porridge on the stove. It burned, but gave rise to something far more lasting than porridge stuck to the bottom of a pot: a dream of his own jewelry workshop. The ladle was replaced by a hammer and the first silver signet ring was born.
Born together
In the workshop, hands created objects whose value was not based on the material alone, but on their meaning. Beauty was born from feelings, gestures, togetherness, and from the belief that everyone has the right to feel enchanting. In summer, the workbenches were moved outside, into the shade of the courtyard birch, to gather around a cup of coffee. At times, silver spoons were set aside for flour, so that everyone could join the celebration. The workshop grew into a community, a family whose heart still beats in Neulamäki, Kuopio.
The courage to renew
In the early 2000s, the jewelry factory faced a crisis. Traditional products were no longer enough, and many would have given up. But we chose a different path. We chose to look to the future and create something new. That is how Lumoava was born: a jewelry brand that brings together Finnish craftsmanship, modern design, and deep emotion.
